Well, crud, it’s happened again! It’s true, I’m back tracking to revive a previous project and transitioning a name into a brand.
By now, the artwork posted here will have already shown up on my various social media channels. But what isn’t clear up until this point, is just what is going on with Star Multiverse.
I began Star Multiverse as a way to get myself back into creating space fantasy stories and art. While my previous long term project (the webcomic www.AsreethLionWarrior) was more of a grounded action adventure tale, I yearned to get back into stories and settings that were more cosmic in nature.
However, after much thought and having gone through drawing practically an entire issues worth of story under “Star Multiverse”, I decided to axe that idea. Now I’m going to make Star Multiverse the brand name that features my space fantasy art and related stories.
Enter: The Hammer and the Fury. This was a project I was working on prior to Star Multiverse. But in writing the first issue, I came to the conclusion that what I wanted to do with Star Multiverse was far too over-reaching. While I do have an entire multiverse of characters and worlds in my head, I need to focus on telling a good, quality story with its focus on a core, central character.
That’s what The Hammer and the Fury will be. Shown here is my artwork revisiting and really hatching out the design of one of the main characters: a small dragon. He’s a cute booger, but don’t let that fool you (stay tuned and keep your eye on this little guy!)
Sometimes you have to come full circle with concepts and ideas. And in my case, I really didn’t know that all my writing and design work would bring me back to my original concept of the Hammer and the Fury. But now that I have the idea and its execution firmly planted, it is exciting to start work on it!
For those of you keeping track, expect the website www.starmultiverse.com to eventually redirect to a new domain name. Hint: it’s got something to do with “hammer” and “fury”. 😉
