The World of Axe the Slayer
500 years ago, a great war (called Naas’bial) was waged between man and dragon. It lasted for 100 years, causing much death and destruction in the world. While both sides sustained heavy losses, neither could claim victory or would admit defeat. It was only when the red flame dragon Duursmane unexpectedly and mysteriously called a truce, that the fighting came to an end. This caused a divide among the Great Dragons. Some dragons were still hungry for war and blood, while those faithful dragons who abided by the dragon lord’s decision left man alone. During the 600 years since the war, with many of the Great Dragons having left for remote lands, mankind has experienced an unprecedented technological growth. Mankind has combined the best of both the ‘old world’ with the ‘new world’ to create a world that is filled with magic and science. But now, after an unprecedented length of time since the war ended, a Great Dragon has been found on the Southern Inlands--and slain, at the hands of none other than Axe the Slayer! Has Axe unknowingly opened the doors for war again, by violating a centuries old truce or is there more to this slaying than meets the eye?
